my monstera is two years old and still has zero splits in the leaves. it grows a new leaf every month but they all come out solid, no holes. it sits in a corner about 3m from the window. do i just need to wait longer or is something wrong?

3m from the window is almost certainly it. the splits are driven mostly by light and maturity, and a corner that far back is low light even if it looks fine to your eye — it's growing, just not earning enough energy for the fancy adult leaves. move it within a metre of your brightest window and give it a moss pole to climb. more light plus climbing is what flips them to fenestrated leaves. not broken, just underlit.

same story here — solid leaves for over a year in a dim spot, first split within a couple of months of moving it next to a bright door and adding a pole. the climbing genuinely seems to matter, not just the brightness.
