Leaf Journal
the cutting program

The terms

Readable on purpose. If something here is unclear, mail hello@leafjournal.app and a human answers — that is the whole support policy.

The deal

  • You get 25% of every sale attributed to your link or code, calculated on the sale amount excluding VAT/sales tax (we may agree a different rate with you personally — it's shown on your partner page).
  • Your audience gets 10% off with your code at checkout.
  • Attribution window: 30 days after a click, last click wins; a typed code always beats the cookie.
  • A commission becomes final 14 days after the sale. Refunds and chargebacks reverse it — also after approval, in which case it nets against your next payout.
  • Payouts run monthly by SEPA transfer from €25; smaller balances roll over. Outside the SEPA area we agree a route that works for you, and the transfer or currency-conversion cost of that route comes off that payout.
  • The commission is a gross amount: whatever VAT or sales tax applies to it is included, and your own taxes are yours to handle. The table below says exactly what that means for you.

The house rules

  • Disclose the partnership on every post that carries your link or code — #ad or #partner. It is the law (and it is honest, which matters more here).
  • The code is for your own audience. Posting it on coupon or deal sites gets it deactivated.
  • No self-purchases — buying through your own code gets flagged automatically and does not count.
  • No ads bidding on "Leaf Journal" or lookalike domains, and no spam. Obviously.

The exit

  • Either of us can stop at any time — mail us, or we mail you. No notice periods, no drama.
  • If we pause or end the partnership, any approved balance above the threshold is still paid out on the next run.
  • We can change the program rates going forward; every commission is snapshotted at sale time, so changes never touch what you already earned. Your account and your page stay yours either way — they are an account on the journal, not a contract.

Your data

  • We store your name, email, channel and (after approval) payout details — needed to run the partnership, nothing else. It lives server-side and is never sold or shared.
  • Applying creates an account on the journal in your name (13 August 2026): that is where your partner page lives — your link, your code, your clicks, sales and payouts. We only make it; you pick the password from the mail we send. If the address already has an account, we leave it alone and use that one. Want it gone? Mail us and we delete it.
  • Prefer not to sign in at all: your numbers also sit behind a private tokened link. Treat that link like a key — lost it, and we resend it.
  • The full picture is in the privacy policy at leafjournal.app/privacy.

What lands in your account

The amount is the same for everyone: your commission, in full, as shown on your dashboard. What differs is the paperwork around it — and that depends on two things only: where you live, and whether you're registered as a business.

  • You're not registered as a business (most people)

    Invoice
None — there's nothing to send
    You get
The full commission, exactly as shown on your dashboard
    How
    SEPA transfer, free
  • Dutch business with a BTW-nummer

    Invoice
An invoice with 21% VAT, included in the amount
    You get
The full commission — the VAT is part of it, and you remit it
    How
    SEPA transfer, free
  • EU business with a VAT number

    Invoice
    0% VAT, marked "VAT reverse-charged"
    You get
The full commission — no VAT is added or withheld
    How
    SEPA transfer, free
  • Business outside the EU (US, UK, Asia…)

    Invoice
    An invoice without VAT
    You get
The full commission, minus what the transfer costs
    How
Wise or PayPal (UK/Swiss accounts: still SEPA, still free)

Not registered as a business? Then there is nothing to send and nothing to arrange — this whole table is one line for you: we pay, you get the money. That is how it works for most partners.

If you are, we do need your invoice before the transfer goes out, because a business payment without one is paperwork neither of us can defend later. Send it in the month your balance passes the threshold and you're in that same run; send it later and you roll into the next one. You tell us which of the two you are on your partner page, together with the account we should pay into.
