The six things

The six things every houseplant needs — and how to stop killing them

Most of us kill a dozen before one really lives. This is what changes that.

What you can do by the end

By the end you can keep a houseplant alive on purpose instead of by luck: you will know how to read light, water by the plant instead of the calendar, and spot trouble a week before it is fatal.

This is for you if

You have killed a plant (or three) and think you have a black thumb. You do not — you were never told the six things.

Skip it if

If you already keep plants alive comfortably and want to propagate or optimise, skip ahead to a later course.

The capstone

Keep one plant alive for 30 days, on purpose

The whole course, proven on one real plant. You will pick a forgiving plant, put it in a spot you have actually measured, water it by the check instead of the calendar, walk past it once a week, and log the lot. Thirty days later you will not just have a living plant — you will know exactly why it lived, which is the thing that finally kills the black-thumb story for good.
